The Fantasy World of Nudism vs. The Real World

Alright, so lately I've noticed a lot of the grey areas surrounding nudism are like, "How come erections are taboo?" and "What's wrong with being naked around children?" as well as "Is it safe to answer the door naked?" Well, I believe the root of majority of these problems comes from viewing the fantasy world of nudism vs. the real world.

In the Perfect Nudist World

Everyone would understand that nudism does not equate to sex.
We would all know that there is a time and place for everything, and simply because one is naked does not mean one is suggesting that they are "easy" or "looking." If animals were to adopt this human ideal, wouldn't they be screwing 24/7?

We would all be nude whenever possible, but clothed whenever practical.
During the hot summer months, we all would be stark naked. We would swim naked, work naked, do anything and everything naked, because clothes during the summer retain heat and make us much more hotter, and no one would bat an eye since they'll be doing the same. When it rains, people would adopt useful tools, like umbrellas, if they need to stay dry if they're going somewhere. If not, simply play in the rain. During the cold winter months, people would wear as much clothing as needed to stay warm. This would vary from person to person, since some people have a high tolerance for the cold, while others don't.

Erections would be viewed as normal.
Ever since puberty, boys were told that they would get random erections. Due to everyone witnessing said erections on a daily basis, erections would be viewed as no more than an irregular body function that one can or cannot control with age. The owners of the erections themselves would continue doing what they were doing since they understand that it'll die down within the minute.

There would be no body shame.
In the Nudist World, people would not have to feel ashamed about our bodies. Why would we? Since we've seen the human body in almost any and every way, shape, and form, we understand the many variations of the body, and do not conceive that one is "better" or "nicer" than the next.

BUT, that's not where we live. We live in the real world, which says:

Everyone doesn't believe nudism equates to sex. If a naked person was spotted publicly today, one would either think they're A) horny and dangerous. B) mentally insane and needed help. or C) starved for attention. If two or more people are naked together, they are about to engage in sex. Animals do not adopt this ideal because they have fur or feathers that cover their true naked bodies.

We are clothed when possible, but nude when practical. Most people sleep clothed, eat clothed, swim clothed, work-out clothed; just about do everything clothed. The only times they are nude is when they are showering or having sex, because nudity in those situations are required. All would be clothed 100% of the time in the public eye, because that's the norm.

Erections are viewed as humilating/dangerous.
When one gains an erection, he is thinking about sex. He wants sex. This will either embarrass him and cause him to hide it as best as he can or cause him to listen to the second head and go after whatever pleases him. Erections are always a big deal one way or another, and thus why men shall be watched with a critical eye.

There is body shame.
The only places nowadays where one can see a naked body are at a muesum or in pornography. And which one is more popular? Due to that, we see our own bodies as "not good enough" for the right mate. The media jumps ontop of this by selling us weight-loss products, playing countless informercials about working out, glamorousing celebrities who are athletically fit, creating clothing designs that hide the body, creating an unrealistic measuring scale for girls. We are fed that a better body opens the door to a better life and those who don't have the body or don't works towards it are lazy.

Even though I listed society views, even us nudists in the real world have to go by what society taught us. How many of us would feel comfrontable allowing a stranger to watch our children at the beach while we run to retrieve something in the car? How many of us are worrysome about erections because of the awareness of sexual preditors in our day and age? How many of us see that single males have to prove their innocence? How many of us see that single females are welcomed with open arms? Yes, I believe things should be as I listed in the perfect nudist world, but then reality struck, giving us the real world. That concept makes itself known in a lot of areas of life, it's even how ecologists make graphs about economics. I hoped this made somewhat of sense and answered a bit of the general questions regarding nudism and the world we live in.

And as an afternote, please don't nitpick about what I said and what you don't believe, instead, focus on the general message I'm trying to get across. Thank you for taking the time to read through all this.

A bit generalised, but in general you are right. These differences exist.
The real world holds a lot of ignorant people who have a knee-jerk reaction towards anything different and who allow their ignorance and prejudice to dictate their response to everything which doesn't fit easily into their world view; nudism being onesuch thing.
Having identified the problem, surely we now need to address the problem. We don't need to accept the world as it is.
If people simply accepted the ignorance, fear and hatred in the world there would still be black slaves in America and Europe, women wouldn't have the vote and we would still be burning witches. People can be educated and their attitudes can change. It is simply up to those of us who want things to change to do something about it.
A world with an enlightened attitude towards the human body should not have to be a fantasy.
