Over wintering runner beans.

Dose any other members overwinter their runner beans as they are a perennial crop and after I was told about it I cut the plants down and dug up the plants last year and put them into large pots and over wintered them in the greenhouse and replanted them this year and they are doing well.

I had no idea this could be done. I am in Georgia (USA), and get beans at least through October. I allow some to go to seed and replant in the spring and summer.

Like Hikerdude I had no idea. Here in Oregon they last till the end of September and I save some seed for next year. My bean rows add up to around 150 - 200 feet. that would be a lot of plants to move in.
