RE: JPG vs JPEG

To be technically correct, JPEG is correct. ( Joint Photographic Experts Group ) JPG is because Micro$oft has limitations. Micro$oft is generally too brain-dead to recognize a file based on the header information, and relies on the name/"extension." ( another Micro$oft invention to overcome other limitations ) Unfortunately, Micro$oft built many, many limitations into their "extension" invention, largely inadvertantly, because DOS simply didn't have this capability, and Micro$oft considers Windows users to be too stupid to know any better.
The ONLY difference is Micro$oft.
