Friday's Beetle Bailey strip

One of soldiers is in bed, and the doc is saying to him " maybe the water at Campy Swampy doesn't agree with you?"
To which the soldier replies, " How about sending me to a camp with ocean breezes, a NUDE beach, and a nearby casino"
The doc replies " when you find a camp like that. Let me know , I'll go with you"

Love it, mainstream comic, in a small town newspaper. I wonder how many of my friends read it and thought " kevin , will like this one"

Knowing the character of the soldier who said it, it wasn't surprising. I didn't think anything about it until you just mentioned it. I just think it shows the mentality of today's population. Most people are fascinated by the thought of nude recreation but few are willing to try it. An example of this is the recent Walgreen's Drug ad showing two women visiting a nude beach. I don't believe that this had an overt sexual appeal but it was high on the amusement factor.

I like the Walgreens ad because it is so innocent, women discovering a new aspect of themselves.

While this particular Walgreens ad is definitely my favorite, I really like the whole series. What a couple of fun-loving people. It's nice to see nudity presented for what it really is, and not as a vehicle for sexual gratification.
