Grey Whale Cove (aka, Devil's Slide) north of Half Moon Bay, California

I read that Grey Whale Cove was the only "Sanctioned" State nude beach in California.
Its in San Mateo County, just south of San Francisco. The pictures looked nice. There is 300 yards of sandy beach with well maintained parking and trail.
I have lived in California my whole life and had never heard of it. Was thinking of camping there in October or September to check it out.
Anyone been there before?
ere before?

I went a couple of times 20 years or so ago when it was operated by a private concessionaire. Nice, but small beach. Good environment at the time. Since then the State took it over, but as you say, it is the only State beach where nudity is officially sanctioned. And I don't know how the Devil's Slide bypass tunnel construction has affected access.

I haven't been there in over a year... maybe three now that I think of it.
Since the state took it over, there's been more non-nude use, but it's still acceptable. Crossing the highway from the (free!) parking is the only real hazard, that and a few flights of stairs.
It's a beautiful little beach, and can sometimes be sunnier than Baker in SF.
