RE:Am I a Nudist or a Pervert?

Thanks for the replies. Even the people who called me a troll. The reason my profile isn't filled out and I don't have much activity is because my foray into nudism has been filled with a lot of guilt and shame and back and forth between I want to do this and I don't. I've been dipping my feet in the water for about 3 years now, lol. But you're right. I should ad some information about myself so I don't seem like a creep.

The short answer to your original question is that often times, clothing and body shame can produce a situation where you hyperrarouse when nude, the taboo around it reinforces it, as does pornography. Our culture is heavily laden with objectification of the body. This condition isn't permanent and it isn't hard to fix, but it takes time.

You should at least fill out your profile a little. That helps people understand you better. And just so you understand as it has been clearly stated, naturism is not a place for public sex or sexuality or erections. Some different opinions exist in other nudist traditions. This site tries to be the former, and not the latter.

Learning to control your arousal and enjoy your body free of compulsive arousal at all times is a good goal.

RE:Am I a Nudist or a Pervert?

We have been enjoying our short time on this site so far.
Its entertaining to read all the expert advice.
Things like the following quote.
"You should at least fill out your profile". "That helps people understand you better".
We do agree, but this is coming from one of the experts who is coaching all the others as to what they should be doing.
Yet they do not ever follow their own advice.
Its just fun to browse the many topics and to read what these types of people have to say.
People either enjoy being nude or they do not.
People either want to enjoy the sun while being naked or they do not.
Its pretty simple people.
There are no rules to being a nudist or to being a textile.
There are no instructions required and coaching advice is definitely not needed.
Duh - You just take your clothes off, how simple is that?
There are more fantasy / closet nudists on this site than there are actual true nudists.
It makes the forums entertaining to read if nothing else.
So many eye rolling topics.

So I'm curious. What advice should I be following that I am not? I am happy to hear you out and correct what's wrong. For background, the OP is expressing experience common to many people who grew up with trauma around nudity and the body. I grew up with that trauma. But nudism and lots of help have gotten me through it to a good place. You both seem nice. It's just not as easy for everyone as it is for you. I'm a teacher by profession and aspie so I write a certain way that clearly rubs you wrong. I can't help that. Sorry.

I appreciate your honesty. I tend to not reply to anonymous profiles, which I see as lacking in authenticity or character. It feels like responding to wall rather than a human. I differentiate between discretion and shame with profiles. Discretion is excluding specific information (small town, face pix) whereas shame is feeling youre inherently wrong for having any profile.

I encourage you to discreetly expose yourself on this site, including the shame you feel. Its common and you couldnt find a better group of people to help you process it. Make this a place of healing. Should others judge you, disregard or block them. Sure, everywhere there are a few assholes. But they are way offset by the people who will affirm you for just the way you are. Youre not beautiful despite that youre naked and imperfect. Youre beautiful, whole and radiant because you are naked, imperfect and vulnerable. Shine, brother, shine.

RE:Am I a Nudist or a Pervert?

I struggled with this question for what seemed like years, but after deep soul searching I can now confidently and happily say that I'm BOTH!

Whew. What a relief that I now realize I don't have to shroud either my body or my spirit for no good reason

Blessings
