Sculptural Illustrator In Need of Nude Male Model

I am a retired, disabled U.S. Navy Illustrator-Draftsman. I am currently a member of VFW Post #1, and, one of their resident artists at their VFW Post # 1 Art Gallery, in Downtown Denver's Santa Fe Drive Art District. I am getting ready to start sculpting a series of male nudes, which will be called "Scared to Death of the Dangly Bits," an expose on our inability to appreciate the beauty of the male body in our American culture. I will be doing each piece of artwork in each medium I have been trained in: sculpture, sculptural illustration, watercolor, pen & ink, oils, acrylics, and, mixed media. I am hoping that by the time this coronavirus issue is over with, that I will have a model or models ready and scheduled, so that I can hit the ground running with this series.

I was told once, by a gallery curator (who was curating John Fielder's gallery in Denver), that "The female nude is art. The male nude is pornography." I was so offended, and, taken aback by that statement, that I closed my portfolio, said, "Thank you for your time. Have a nice day!" And, I walked out of the portfolio review and never looked back.

If there are any men who'd be interested in modeling for me, please contact me at thirdimension2018@gmail.com. This is a paying gig, and, will be interim ongoing, based on my budget. I pay $15 per hour for models.

And, it won't bother me if you get an erection during your modeling session. I'm used to it. I was a Navy artist for 20 years, modeled for art groups and classes myself for nine years after I retired from the Navy. Then, I went to college and did life drawing and sculpting there, got my BFA in Illustration, and, now, I teach art and sculpt live at the VFW Post # 1 Art Gallery on our 1st and 3rd Friday Art Walks.
