Never Wet by Rustoleum

I've never used this stuff. But I saw a recommendation on YouTube by a guy who uses it on his paddle blades. It's a sealer and a water repellent. So the idea is that when he's paddling, either double blade or single blade, he never gets drips into his boat or his lap because the water falls off the blade as soon as the blade comes out of the water. Sounds interesting but I'm a bit skeptical. I use drip rings/splash guards but I'm always on the lookout for something that might work better.
Anybody here tried this stuff?

Seems like drip rings are a much better solution in not having to reapply the coating. Plus, using a double blade paddle if your stroke is low parallel to the water, it isn't going to run down your shaft into the yak.
