RE:WNBR 2022

Just got back from the Wicconsin and Chicago. Did the Madison, WI ride on June 18. I was riding my bike to the ride from my motel room, about 5 miles and got a flat tire. I always carry a spare tube and a small pump so I was able to fix it. On that ride they announce a checkpoint, not the starting point then take you to the starting point. There was a strict 10:45 cut off at the checkpoint. I got there at 10:40. I would have really been pissed if I missed the ride. Because of all the secrecy surrounding the ride, no one knew the route. The ride was a bit disappointing at first. For the first few miles there were hardly and spectators. once we went through downtown it got a little better. Then we went to the Capitol Circle. There was a farmer's market going on and the streets were packed with people that started cheering us on. Overall a good time. While at the Madison ride, I met the organizer of the Milwaukee ride. We got talking about me possibly attempting a double header with Chicago. I planned on doing Chicago and skipping Milwaukee. After discussing it with him I decided to try to do the Milwaukee ride which he assured me would be done by 6:00PM and then haul ass to Chicago for their ride that starts at 8:00PM. The Milwaukee ride promotes the event with the start/ finishing point announced a week or so before the ride. I was staying in Chicago for the days before and the night after the ride. Chicago, like Madison did not announce the checkpoint (again, not the start / finish point) until almost 9:00AM the day of the ride. I immediately checked for parking lots close and was able to reserve a parking spot a block away from the checkpoint. At least Chicago sent a map of the route. Before I left Chicago for Milwaukee I drove to the parking lot just so I could locate it quickly since I would be cutting it close. At least with a map if I got there a little late I could catch up with the group (clothed) then take off my shorts and join in. I then drove to Milwaukee for their ride and was I glad I did! They had a festival atmosphere there with a live band, vendors for food, drinks, body painting and all sorts of other cool stuff. I even got interviewed by the local paper

The ride was great too with roughly 99.8% of the response from spectators being positive. As soon as the ride was over, I threw the bike in the back of the car and hauled ass to Chicago. I got there at 7:45, just in time. The Chicago ride was the largest of them, about 1000 riders. We went about 15 miles through downtown Chicago, up to the Boystown area and then back south through downtown. We did a 15 min break at a park. Mind you I had no Idea where we were. Thousands of people cheering us on. It is so nice to put a smile on their faces. I am writing this shortly after I returned home from the drive from Chicago. I will try to update this tomorrow after I get some rest. All in all I did 4 rides in a 15 day span! Austin, Madison, Milwaukee and Chicago.

https://wnbrstl.org/ is the official site for the St Louis ride. From what I hear it is a big nude block party before and after the ride with some of the bars permitting full nudity I am already booked for the trip. Staying at the Aloft Hotel just down the street and renting a bike from Big Shark Bicycles. I will report the morning after how it all works out.
About the Houston ride, It looks like I may be doing it too. Will be my 10th of the year. I have 2 friends that may ride in with me and split expenses. We have some fun things to do:
1) we will be nude for as much of the trip as possible. Whoever spends the most time by about 20 minutes clothed pays for the motel.
2) We will do at least 1 nude gas stop. At the gas stop everyone gets out of the car nude. Helps with cleaning the windshield and such. Whoever does not spend the entire fuel stop outside the car nude pays for that tank full.
I may get out of that trip pretty cheap although one of the guys is as much of an exhibitionist as I am.

Hope someone doesn't spend the gas stop nude outside the car. With all the driving you are doing you need any help paying for gas that you can get!
Are either of the friends the one you had planned to do the nude road trip to Key West with?

RE:WNBR 2022

I did the 2 rides in Montreal Saturday. The weather was perfect, a bit warm for the locals, but perfect for me. As usual the response from the spectators was about 99.9% positive, especially when we rode down St. Catherine st in the Gay Village. I think we had even more spectators on the night ride (8:00-9:30) Both ride were a large loop back to Dorchester Square park, then a 10 min break then a small loop.
A big difference between this ride and the 4 others I did this summer was the Police. Major kudos to the Montreal Police. We had about 6 police cars and 10-12 Police officers on bikes, escorting us, and blocking traffic for us. All of the officers were great and cooperative and most of them seemed to enjoy being with us even though they were clothed. There was an incident at the stop before the second loop and at the end of the evening ride. There were a couple of punks that had an issue with us being naked in the park and despite the police explaining to them that it was a legal demonstration they kept harassing us. One of them started walking towards me and an officer stopped him just as he started to lunge towards me. I don't know why he picked me, I had not said anything or acknowledged him in any way. Maybe it was just a clear shot from where he was to where I was. The bottom line is if he attacked me I would have probably beat the shit out of him. The interesting thing is, if he did attack me It was not too smart to do it in front of a dozen Police Officers, and attack one of the more muscular guys there. I may be getting old, but am still pretty fit.
All in all, a great well organized ride. Only about 75 riders, but I am beginning to prefer the smaller rides. Don't get lost in the crowd
