I came to an understanding years ago that what goes on in someone's head when they see my wife naked is inconsequential. I'm sure some people, at the various venues we've been to, may have had prurient thoughts upon seeing her "exposed." Heck; maybe some even had the opposite reaction lol.
What matters, as it is often said; is behavior. And my wife's comfort with it. As long as their "inner dialogue" is not manifested into action; who cares?

Sexual thoughts happen regardless of how people are dressed.
As a Christian naturist, who believes in the gospel of Jesus and who practices social mixed-gender nudity:
-We know that nudity is essential for hygiene, medical examination and sexual intimacy. These are already separated categories for the practice of nudity. A naturist simply adds nude recreation to the list.
-Our practice of social nudity is strictly non-sexual. Be nude, not crude.
-Just because we're naked and you can see my sexual parts--and I can see yours--doesn't mean that I expect either of us to do anything about it.
-we also don't believe in imposing our freedom on those who would be made uncomfortable. Be nude, not rude.
-It would be helpful to establish a good working definition of naturist practice, viz, naturism is the practice of interacting with the natural world--sun and water, etc., without the mediation of clothing with like-minded people of both sexes.

While I applaud any measure that illuminates the subject, so that we all know what we're talking about, I'm afraid that the particular definition would not satisfy everyone, because everybody has their own idea of what constitutes "nudism," "naturism" or even "freedom."
But I think that your definition of naturism is as good as any. It's identical to mine. And unlike other definitions, which require some sort of social interaction, it allows for solitary nudity as long as the person is conscious of the fact that their body is often better attuned to the environment when naked. A nudist or naturist can put some clothing on when their environment demands it. My personal definition is that when it doesn't make sense to wear clothes, it makes sense not to wear clothes.
