I keep a pair of shorts in the console year 'round. If I ever get pulled over (I have twice for unrelated violations) I just slip them on and remain calm.
Perhaps we have smaller cars in UK but I have never been able to put shorts on in the driver's seat.

I drove nude from garage to Suwannee Valley Resort in north Florida a few years ago. Since the whole trip was there and back home a few days later I hadn't packed a bag. At the last moment I remembered to go back into the house to get a pair of shorts and a shirt in case I needed them. I'd taken a 5 gal can of gas and was able to top off the tank without getting dressed at a rest stop, avoiding a gas station. And I did need the shorts because I needed to fill-up the truck at a gas station in the daylight on the way home.
I would just strip down after working a hot sweaty day, stop get something to drink on the ride home. Strip after I get in to the truck to hit the road, interstate, windows opened. At last stop sign or light would slip dried clothes on, then next stop home.

Where I live you couldn't get away with dressing at a stop sign or red traffic light - the vehicles behind you would never put up with the delay.

Did you strip down first and get the drink at a drive through while nude?
when I'm going to camp I usually leave wearing a t shirt , gym shorts and sandals or tennis shoes as I usually stop and get fast food along the way. and there have been times when my friend picks me up I'll go out to his car nude for the ride but coming home weather solo or with him I leave camp nude as it's late in the day and even when I get home little is stirring where I live. as for the garage is full of stuff other than a car.
I have attached garage and leave totally naked. No clothes with me, love that and the feel if get pulled over there's nothing I can do. Such a rush.
Someone on another site sort of did the opposite. His laundry room had doors to the garage, house and yard.
When he retired, he and his male partner got rid of most of their clothes and their closets and dressers and moved what little clothing they had left into the laundry room. When they had to get dressed to go somewhere, they dressed in the laundry room and undressed there upon return.
They made an agreement that no clothing would be found in the rest of the house, worn or stored.
