He posted this some time ago before gas prices skyrocketed.Solar depends on massive government subsidies to compete. The amount of carbon dioxide emissions saved by electric vehicles depends on the source of electricity. If it is heavily coal based, electric vehicles actually result in an increase in CO2 emissions. From Google.Solar energy no longer depends on "massive" government subsidies to exist, as falling technology costs have made it economically competitive in many regions. However, it still benefits significantly from government support to speed up deployment and reduce upfront costs, particularly in residential settings.Any electrical device that gets its energy from coal powered electric generators will have a carbon footprint.Any electrical device that runs on renewables has zero carbon footprint. Its that simple,

The odd thing is that China is the world's leader in electric vehicles but gets the majority of its electric generation by coal. Under those circumstances, electric vehicles may have a greater carbon footprint than gasoline powered cars.

I dont know where you get your knowledge from, but its never reliable fact based knowledge . It as if you just make shit up to increase your post count.

A simple Google search ,1st article page one reveals this

Clean Energy Growth: Wind and solar combined generated over a quarter of China's electricity in early 2026, with solar capacity increasing by 45% to 887 GW by end-of-2024.

Thats almost half from renewable and they lead the world in development and use of renewable tech too.
