Bodies as shapes

I photograph my own body because I'm interested in the shapes it makes. Light, shadow, the way a form changes when the angle does. I came to it from a fine art background that has been short of inspiration for a long while.

Other people's bodies interest me the same way. Every one of them does something different with light. Weight, age, posture, scars, all of it changes the composition.

Clothing hides all that. It works as a conformity uniform, as camouflage, and as somewhere to hide behind status. Nudity levels it. Bodies all follow the same basic template and that template still evolves into an enormous number of unique forms. You only get to see that when nobody is dressed.

I don't photograph other people. I don't know enough people to ask.
