Good subject for a documentary
In Fact Penn and Teller did just that. A really good 20 minute piece on the ups and downs of circumcision. It's doesn't end with an answer, just lets you make up your own mind based on the info given. One mother says she doesn't want her kid ever to be made fun of in gym class showers. OK, how much of our lives are in gym class showers and who hasn't been made fun of for something? Thank gawd we have a few people who don't give a hoot what others say. Either, way, worth the watch. I'd leave an URL here but I think it should be easy to google. Or You tube. I hardly ever give the subject any thought myself and would never cut someone up based on societal norms.
The Yanks [ie Americans] like in some kind of Puritanical time-warp. Routine circumcision ended a long time ago in Australia, New Zealand and, obviously, Canada. At least, at long last, circumcision is becoming less popular in the United States.
