Why is the white space automatically eliminated.

Whenever I post, the white space is eliminated. I have to edit my posts to put the white space back in. Why is the white space eliminated and how to I prevent it from being eliminated? (btw, what I mean by white space is the space between paragraphs.)

Its crazy I know, but the easiest way is to add extra line feeds (returns) when you type
Like this kiss 2 return presses after the word type on the first line
This is 3 return key presses after the word line above.

After I post something.
I clicked on the little pencil to edit.
At the end of each sentence I hit the "Enter" key two times.
After I hit "Reply"
I check back to be sure.

Not if you follow the instructions above.And this is the only site I have ever been to that doesn't respect white space. Having to modify my behavior for the oddity of this one site is annoying - to me.
