A Nudist's Diary

This is a group where members enjoy to write and read experiences in nudity.

I am currently reading a fascinating book called The Boys in the Boat by Daniel James Brown. It is the true story of 9 young men from Washington state who won Olympic Gold in 8 man crew in the 1936 Berlin Games. I was flipping through it looking at the various pictures when the word "naked" jumped out at me from the text. Of course i stopped and read that paragraph. It involvedthe shower facilities one of the men had to use and black widow spiders. Have any of you had that word jump out at you from thetext of a book or print?

It always does. When I read through ...this word immediately catches eyes.

Yes I had that experience when the word 'nudist' jumped out from an article I was reading in 'The Economist'. The article was referring to a certain author Robert A.Heinlein who advocated a living wage for all members of society.
From the research I carried out, I ordered the book 'For Us the Living', a science fiction written between 1918 and 1939 but never edited while the author was alive.
In the fiction , the main character Perry Nelson loses control of his car while driving, and when he awakes from consciousness he finds himself in the year 2086. Apart from the changes that takes place over the past 150 years in technology and intellect, he learns that nudity is an acceptable way of living, relationships do not need to be governed by marriage certificates , and sexual jealousy has become a thing of the past and the the economy is run in a total different manner.

Yes, words jump out at me all the time and sometimes get me in trouble. I was setting a field trip for cub scouts and got excited that was a naturist on staff. Well, she turned out to be a naturalist. And reading about the Haiti and how it's denuded, it was just about trees getting chopped down.
