Internal Fight.. Model or Photographer??
Return to DiscussionsKnow the feeling, mate. But it's not a fight: every artist models for himself, and finds himself in his models. Your photos are exquisite. You've found a perfect model ;)
so you are saying that I should keep been my own model!!!..
Yes, doesn't hurt to find others, but to my eye you are so beautiful, I would certainly like to see more of you. There's still a bit of self-consciousness in your selfies; try taking pics of yourself as if it were someone else, treat yourself as a true model.

Hahaha haha I know but it is because I don't like to laugh but in some I can like hide that....
You can do both as you make a good model and your photos are very good too. In fact, it must be harder to take pictures this way as you cannot view the picture while taking it. So if you find a willing model you can probably take even better ones.
I have the same problem as you, to model or to photograph?
I have been lucky and have found a small number of people to model over the years. It is very hard to direct a new model. And in many cases older models are very unhappy with the photos. They are 60 years old but want photos that make them look 40 years old! I cannot do that!
As I am an amateur photographer it takes a lot of time to work out good poses, adjust lights and take photos from different angles. Sometimes the model becomes impatient and bored. They think that a photo shoot will be more action and excitement than it really is.
The best models have been other photographers. They know what they look like and what to expect from a photo shoot. I have really enjoyed those photo shoots.
The advantage of being your own model is that you have plenty of time to experiment with poses and lighting and camera settings. There is no pressure. The problem is that you are concentrating hard on being the photographer. When you model your expression will be of stern concentration. This is not the best facial expression. Your pose may be telling one story, but your facial expression will be telling a different story. When you self model you must remember to relax and get into the character of the pose/photograph. For example if you are laying on a beach, people will expect an expression of happy relaxation under the sun. It is a challenge to pose both your body and your mind and facial expression in the few seconds you have on a self timer!
