As a die-hard smoothie I recommend shaving! I use a triple-blade wet razor when I'm in the shower. I shampoo my head hair and use the lather as shaving foam. After I'm showered, shaved and toweled. I apply liquid witch hazel (from most pharmacists), and sometimes a little aftershave lotion, to prevent shaving rash. Then I apply some after shave balm, which soaks in and moisturises the skin. You will feel fresh, clean and smoooth!
This has the extra benefit of more intimate contact during sex, especially if your partner is smooth too, and especially great for oral sex. Cleaning up is easier too. The only disadvantage is the stubble that grows after a couple of days, but then you just shave again.
Being shaved smooth gives a cool clean sensual feeling. The skin is sensitive to the touch. The down side is the need to shave again. Body hair is also good in cold weather. Having been to many nudist venues I've noticed that most men and almost all women have no hair down there.
