Artistic Photos

This is a place to post your "artistic" photos for others to view and enjoy. However you choose to define "artistic" is up to each individual. The genesis of this idea for me was having taken some shadow/silhouette photos, wanting to share them, but not really knowing where to post them. They are "soft" nude photos that are more provocative than explicit. Hoping...

Nice poses! How long were those poses? The forward lunge pose and the back arch look like they would be difficult to hold.

From my memory of Life Drawing classes it is vital that the model does not move during the pose. As one of the artists I know why. Those poses would be very difficult to hold unless they were short poses - say a few minutes. For the main pose the model was put in a comfortable position which they could hold for an hour without the slightest movement.

Hi there. Both of these poses were fairly short poses. I can't remember exactly how long, but probably around 3 to 5 minutes. The back arch pose was actually me sitting on the back rest of the chair and leaning back and supporting myself with my arm on the seat. So, that pose I could have held for about 10 mintues if needed. The hard part would have been getting up from that position without passing out. hehehe.

Yes, very true--it is absolutely essential that the model stay very still during the poses. It is very disconcerting for the artists when there is movement, even a quiver from the muscles, because the model is having a hard time holding the pose. To me that is probably the hardest thing, choosing a pose that is appropriate for the length of time it needs to be held. I try to do very dynamic and energetic poses, but have to keep in mind how long the poses has to be held for.
