Return to DiscussionsGuys, what I read here is not just happing to ya'll, IT HAPPENS EVERY WHERE, and I hear and read the same story over and over. What I've learned over the years and especially over the last two year, individuals, mostly guys are a lot of talk and then no action. Sorry to say it, but expect it every time.
I run a nude men's group on meetup, we hold whole bunch of 'event's. Many rsvp they will attend but at the end about 1/3 actually follow thru. I've had host get upset but I look at it, enjoy those that show up. Some host have wanted to spend money, like what I've read here. I quickly make a point to get them not to, have each individual show up with something. Granted that can also create a problem when individual canx or no shows who said they bring the hot dogs but the individual shows up with the hot dog buns. I attended at pool party, almost two hours away. I was one of two out of 20 who RSVP, other guys was from 1 1/2 hr away. All the locals didn't show up and again guys had put out a spread. Yes, it's sad but take it from one who lives this daily with following up with guys to show up, insure we have the right foods/snacks/drinks, it's a lot of work sometimes but then at the end you enjoy those you get time with.
Yesterday, we had a trip to the only nude state park planned, 10 RSVP, but only myself and one other guy went. I text pics to all the rest of the group, most were like "I wish I had gone with you"... .ya right.
BTW, I'm going to be in Phoenix with my wife at the end of month, 30th for 3 days. I've contacted a few in Phoenix but so far like 2 have responded. If anyone of you want to meet up, do something, I'm all ears! I have a friend in PHX we staying with and he's looking at what we could do. I'd like to do some hiking (nude if at all possible), maybe get to the resort, hang out enjoy each others nude company, go to sycamore creek, some hot springs... I know there has to be stuff to do nude not just sit around and look at each others....(you fill in the blank)...LOL
Again enjoy those that do show interest and follow with another visit. Life is to short to deal with the rift raft.... :)
This happens a lot and it makes me angry. I dont understand why people cant just RSVP that they cannot come instead of not showing up. Has RSVPing with a no become not socially acceptable at some point in time that Im not aware of? If Daniel and/or I say we are going to be there, you bet we are going to be there! If we are invited and cannot come we will RSVP with a no.
I agree Jim, Lots of RSVPs but most are no-shows. I no longer drive so the event either has to be close by or IF I can get a ride. Thankfully I have a roommate that is a nudist also. But he works so he is only available on certain days. I have begged for rides to various events over the last few years with little or no response. I have been to a few downtown Phoenix events and found them not as advertised or very uncomfortable. During the warmer months my home is open for spa/patio parties & BBQ and so far not one person has wanted to attend.
You know me Jim, I am no joker or fake and if I am going to do something or offer something it is very solid. Yes, this Covid has placed a damper on social activities but we can survive and adapt our activities, just as we made adjustments for camping trips. You would think that offering a nudist social venue would be attractive.
