Barefoot in Spring

Return to Discussions

Do you find that your feet have become a bit tender during the winter?

If you live I a very warm climate, then you may not have this problem. Although I don't wear shoes regardless of the time of year, I'm not outside as much during the winter and my feet do tend to get a bit tender by the time spring rolls around.

I've been a barefooter for only about 6 years now. The first few months of the first summer were pretty rough, but gains in endurance were rapid. The second season I expected to start all over. Not so! There was some regression, but not much. By the forth year I hit a plateau, but losses over winter were minimal. I wish my feet would continue to grow tougher, but I'm far far far from where I started. Looking forward to moving from Missouri to Fla this summer. Planning on a whole lot more barefooting in the future.

When I was young, I played on hot asphalt streets. Got very thick, very tough soles. I think heat in the key to getting really tough soles. You should be able to manage that in Florida.

I'm always barefoot. But starting a job on the 12th and will have to wear shoes for that. Going to look for something that will be good enough but that I can kick off easily at my desk.

But being outside barefoot is a much better pleasure.I could not agree more.

I attached a copy of the sign I have on my door.
