Return to DiscussionsI discovered a Korean Bath House only a few miles from my house. It is a lot different from the Turkish Bath House that I have been going to the past couple of years.
The Turkish bath House is historic (opened in 1927) and the Korean bath house is much newer.
I went on a Thursday morning and there were about 6 to 10 other men there. Most men walked around freely nude but some wore a towel. They have a hot pool and a cold pool that will hold about 20 people each. 2 dry saunas that hold about 6 people each at a time and a steam shower that holds about 12 people. There is also a Crystal Room that is like another dry sauna but has Yoga mats and wooden head rest on the floor. About 8 men can lay in there and dry off after your soak.
What I liked about the place is how nice and clean it is. Woden floors in the locker area, nice slate tile in the wet area and the fact that it is open every day to both sexes (there is a mens side and a womens side.)
What I didnt like is the temputures of the hot tub, the steam shower and the dry saunas were below what I like. The Turkish bath House s temputures. Even though it is showing its age. And the dry sauna also allows you to use water to cool off and it hold about 40 people at once. The hot tub and the steam shower only hold 6 people though.
I will go back to the Korean sauna because it is close and I dont have to remember if it is a mens or womens day.
I find that I prefer the temps not so hot. It allows me to stay in for longer periods of time and get a nice slow sweat instead of the searing I get when the Europeans start pouring water on the rocks.
It seems more relaxing to me.
Do they offer body scrubs and massages there?

Our newest experience was staying overnight in a camper.
The wife and I had talked about buying a trailer after visiting VVHS and we have been looking at some at the camp sites and at MAR noting what we like. I read other post on TN about trying them out before you buy to really know what you want and need and what you can do without.
The hot springs we frequent rents trailers by the night so we did and now I understand more of what our needs will be when we do finally buy.
The trailers they rent are owned by members and they allow them to be rented when they are not there. We rented a 5th wheel that was about 25 from the 70s. There was no water hookup so the bathroom was locked off. There was a stove, microwave and refrigerator. We took prepared meals so we only used the microwave. It had a futon and a full sized bed and is listed as a six person but 4 comfortably.
The main bed was in the loft so the ceiling was low and with the wall on the other side, making the bed was difficult. My wife has knee issues so going up the stairs was hard for her and you have to duck as you go up and then crawl and roll into the bed. Then getting up in the middle of the night is also difficult so when we got up to go to the restroom, we just stayed up and went to soak.
Being able to soak in the middle of the night is what made it worth all the effort. We will try it again. They have what looks like a 30ft trailer that looks a bit newer and everything is on one level.
I agree Bear, coed nude bathing would be preferred. I wonder if something happened at the Korean spa, there are signs everywhere saying Keep Your Hands To Yourself. Also at a couple of the clothing optional hot springs, they tell you no hugging or kissing in or around the pool.
We shold be able to soak and relax together without sex ruining things for everyone.
My newest experience was mowing the lawn nude. Okay it was almost dark and only the back but I was nude and it felt exhilarating.
I have spent some nude time in my backyard in the mornings before i think my neighbors are up and about enjoying a cup of tea. The neighbors behind are at an elevation about 15 feet higher than our home so they can see us as we can see them. Of the two homes with direct line of sight to ours 1 is almost completely covered by trees and bushes and the other is only slightly covered.
During my mowing, the one neighbor came out on his deck. He could probable tell that I was nude but probably couldn't see anything. By the time I was finished, I could barely see the uncut grass.
I also go out and walk around a bit at night just to feel the wind on me and sometimes the neighbors are on their deck. and since I walk around the house nude with the curtains open they may have seen me If they have, they have not said anything.
I had a fun & maybe funny experience yesterday.
We went to a good friend's home for cookout and dinner. She knows we are practicing nudists but has declined to join us.
She is also a master gardener with a very private back yard. So while she and my wife were putting the steaks on the grill, I went around the corner, from the deck, into the back. I saw that the sun was shining right down the middle of her small greenhouse and settling on a wooden chair. So I told the ladies I was going to get some sun therapy. My wife said, jokingly, "leave your clothes on"! Well, I couldn't resist the opportunity.
I went in, stripped down (was only wearing a T and pants) and enjoyed the heck out of 15 mins of pure sun on my frontside. They never knew :)
Oh I am so looking forward to moving to Tucson this summer, where I will be able to wear my birthday suit much, much more often.
My latest new experience what going to the Russian Bath House with my son.
He invited me to go with him because he has heard us talk about it and he wanted to try it out. He liked it and we enjoyed some father and son time together.
I hope that some day he will go to the hot springs with us. His mom is not so excited about that though.
It has been a while since i posted a new experience. I have had a few over the past few months. I will start with getting a body scrub at JeJu spa in Atlanta. I have seen it people get them at the Russian bath house but have never received one. Tried it at Jeju and it was wonderful. I will have to get one at the Russian or Korean spa.
