Some basics:
The beach is in La Jolla, across from UCSD. You park in the Torrey Pines Gliderport parking (unpaved).
The trail near the gliderport is longer and less steep; it lets out at the south end of the beach. Off to the right end of the parking lot is the shorter, steeper route, called the goat trail. This leads to the northern part of the beach which tends to be the gay section.
