Update on the Parking Area Construction
This is the update we received from the County as of 6/27/25:
"As of our last construction meeting it's looking like the project should be completed by end of December 2025."
The original estimate was September which would have been just in time for high tourist season. But they did get a little bit of a late start and had a couple delays. I guess the old saying goes, It will be nice when it is done. Next time I am down there I will take a look and see if I can see any progress. The weather lately is not helping any.
UPDATE 7/18/25:
I was there Wednesday 7/16 from about 9am-2;30pm. A couple things I observed. When I walked down the beach from the Little Mud Creek crossover to the FPL property, I came upon an overgrown path with a Clothing Required Beyond This Point sign. I figured it was the path to the observation tower, but no tower there so it must have been the path to the main parking lot. What a difference 7 months of non use makes. After I left I drove down to the main entrance. OMG! There were actually people working there! That is the first time out of about 5 visits that I actually saw that. There was a cement truck pouring cement just to the south of the trail to the beach. I suspect that is where the rest rooms/showers will be, but not sure. I may be there this Thursday so if I see any more progress, I will report it here and try to get some better pics.
