Naked Friendship - hadaka no tsukiai

One of the best ways to get to know someone in Japan is to take a bath with them. That might sound strange, but the Japanese have a phrase for this, hadaka no tsukiai, which translates roughly to naked friendship. Literally stripped of all clothes and outward formalities, the relaxed onsen vibe gives you the chance to go beyond the surface.

RE:Naked Friendship - hadaka no tsukiai

In Sweden there is no similar concept, but talking to a stranger in a sauna is borderline acceptable, and that's a step to creating friendship.
The only other times you can talk to a stranger in Sweden is: 1) you need specific help such as directions 2) you are drunk 3) you are mentally ill 4) you are a foreigner or 5) a combination of the above.
Being seen naked by a stranger, however, is of no or little concern.
