Anyone growing anything this winter in the Northern Hemisphere?

Return to Discussions

I planted a winter garden this year, my first substantial attempt!
Unfortunately, in the US Southeast, We had virtually no fall. I did manage two decent patches of Romaine which we are still enjoying but the rest of my greens seemed to just stop growing all together.
I have some growing in the greenhouse as well but still doing poorly. The only good thing...it provides some nude warmth on a sunny day and my cat "Stevie Ray" will hang out and have a few beers with me while we listen to music!
Anyone have any luck this year?

Well the sprout plants have sprouts on them but are on the small size and I hope they will grow more, the leaks are smaller than I will like but they went in late due to lack of room to plant them out. The purple sprouting looks good and better than last year where the dog was getting into the vegetables garden and eating the plants. Also some swedes but on the small size so not much to keep us going this year so will have to try harder for next winter.
