Some of the fine folks who attend Avalon Fest do a trip down the Potomac River from Oldtown MD back to Paw Paw WV on the morning after the festival. It's this weekend, so that would put the trip on this coming Monday the 14th. It's a great trip -- takes basically all day to float down the northern branch of the Potomac. We typically take lots of breaks for lunch and whatnot. It's possible to be nude for nearly the entire trip -- once you turn the corner from the put-in in Oldtown, until you round the bend near Paw Paw. It's glorious. I went last year and some really bad weather caught up with us -- huge thunderstorm, lots of lightning -- it was scary there for a bit. Hopefully the weather cooperates a bit better this year. Can't make it myself but I thought I'd pass it along in case anyone else is interested. Folks usually park (half the vehicles) near the toll booth on Green Spring Rd and the other half at the boat launch on the east side of the Oldtown bridge in Paw Paw for exfil.

If anyone would like to do this trip but also can't make it this Monday, let me know. Maybe we could set up another trip for later in August or early September, perhaps on a weekend day.
