how many canoes / kayaks use your favorite lake
Return to Discussionsthe lake i canoe / kayak and fish is only a couple hundred acres and gets fished alot by mostly jon boats - trolling motors only and on weekdays by a few kayaks and a occasional canoe but this weekend it got warm and everyone must have bought a kayak. i'd say a dozen jon fishing boats , me and another canoe and at least 30 kayaks and some had no clue what to do one lady rammed into another kayak and than headed straight for me - yeah changed course and gave her nasty look. its good to see others out enjoying the sun some was quite entertaining.
i usually see 2-3 fishing boats but very few personal watercraft. In the main part of the lake there are a lot of water skiers and pleasure craft but I don't frequent that part of the lake. I am comfortable going nude most of the time.
i guess everyone had cabin fever the day i went out but it's always been a popular park. also kayaks have really dropped in price and for a couple hundred dollars you can be out paddling so i guess that helps up poor folks enjoy the water too.
