inflatables canoes & kayaks have come a long way so whats your view on them ? $99. up to $1000 + are they worth it ? can't beat the convenience and sure weigh a lot less.

i have one a little two seat Sevylor they aren't bad and was my first kayak ( get the attachable fin or you will spin around in circles) i prefer my old town vapor but if i went on a road trip a inflatable on would be nice to have along without my vapor being strapped to the roof .

I don't own one but I really like the way they are made now. I would definitely consider buying one. Much more convenient. The only real downside is having to inflate it but it's not big deal.

i had a battery operated pump i plugged into car cigarette lighter plug and even a large hand pump that worked great. i am just amazed at how far they have come and beginner one are actually pretty cheap and go up from there. getting out on the water is a lot cheaper and convenient than it use to be.

Rented them at the Nantahala River and loved it. They called them funyaks and the good thing was when you went over rocks it took the brunt of the Impact. I've been told they are quite slow on a lake but no experience with one there.

I started out my kayaking with two of Sea Eagle's lower end models. I had fun with them but since they lacked drop-stitch floors they had just enough flex to aggravate my back issues. When I upgraded I chose a rotomolded kayak over a drop stitch inflatable simply because of the fact that inflatables are illegal to use in any park administered by The NY Parks Dept. If finances allowed I'd add something like a Sea Eagle FasTrak or Advanced Elements kayak to my fleet in a heart beat. Well, maybe not in a heart beat cuz a quality inflatable SUP board would likely come first.

The reason I would like a Sea Eagle Fast Trak is because it actually
has an inflatable keel at the front to improve tracking.

I got to try a buddy's Advanced Elements inflatable kayak out on Lake Ontario today. Not a bad little boat but the aluminum back bone kit and drop stitch flooring upgrade would be a must if I were to try paddling one for any length of time.
