Christian Nudists

We gather together for fellowship. To share about our relationship with God To tell of how we work out being a Christian and a nudist in daily living. We see nudism as a positive expression of our God given sexual nature.

I agree with you. God created us nude. So actually its a sin to wear clothes. We should live nude all together 24/7 everywhere is possible. Like in Garden Eden.

Christianity has a complicated relationship to nudity. First we were created in God's image. Then we felt shame for our nudity in the Garden. Then Jesus the second Adam told us to be naked and beautiful like flowers blooming in the valley and to follow him. Then Paul disparged the body and told us to follow him and his example. Mixed messaging.

Agree 100%. But so has the Jewish religion. Islam is the antithesis of it all. Hindus appreciated the naked human body with its sexual connotations, but when Europeans invaded India, they shamed everyone.

I agree mixed medssages in the bible. One different point of view on the Adam and Eve part. I believe they were not ashamed of the nudity it was because of the sin they committed. Yes they realized they were nude, but they shame and need to cover was a result of thier sin. God is interested in the heart of humans as it states in several passages and LOVE being the ultimate goal. For everyone yo get along and for everyone to enjoy Gods creations as they are.

The messages aren't mixed. It is clear that Adam and Eve sinned and lost their innocence. We should seek to regain that innocence and being nude can be part of that, if we choose. Choice is something God has given us, including the choice to accept Him and the choice to sin. That said, as in our society, sexual sin can be associated with nudity and we are to avoid sexual sin. It all seems very clear to me.

I consider you fortunate to have a clear sense of what consitutes sexual sin in the Bible. I don't. Lot's daughters got their dad drunk to have sex with him and get pregnant. Abraham let his wife Sarai be cruel to the slave Hagar, the mother of his son Ishmael, to the point that she had to run away without a provider or protector or the opportunity to be independent. Neither faced Biblical condemnation. Onan on the other hand was ordered to have sex with his sister in law and was struck dead for pulling out of her before ejaculating. Incest, drunkenness, slavery, cruelty and capital punishment for going against divine sexual coercion: are these the bedrock of Biblical family values? Or is there a whole morality based on not wasting a single sperm or egg for familial or clan responsibilty to be fruitful and multiply? How are these values relevant when our population is threatened for being too large rather than too small?

Your question is valid and has been taken up by many any no good answer has been given as far as I know. The closest to a good answer would be that back in the biblical times you refer to God was growing the population in order to cover the world. Now with the world population growing so much those things or meassures that were once forbidden may now be excused and in the same concept others that were not sin may be a sin nowadays. It is in the heart of the person that God looks for. The true intent or desire is what He sees.

I agree we were ment to be nude, but I would not go as far as saying wearing clothing is a sin. God gave us the ability and gifts to make clothing to protect ourselves and keep warm. As humans differ from animalls and do mot produce winter coats of fur that we shed in the warmer weather. God gave people the talent to make clothing to protect themselves. Where it goes off the rails is when you desire clothing for a fad or trend. Your hearts desire is for clothing instead of God.

Lots of questions there that each requires a conversation. Superficial answers are, in my view, insufficient to explore the depths of the (superficial?) questions you raise. Were Abraham and Sarah rebuked for their actions? Yes. Was incest rewarded? No. Is obedience expected? Yes. Do people drink to excess? Yes, and there are consequences. Indeed, I am blessed (fortunate). I know what constitutes sexual sin so that I can apply it and I am, like the woman caught in adultery, just as guilty.
My point was that God gives choices and instructs against sexual sin. In our day, nudity and sex get conflated.
