Christians Who Pray And Share

Active Christians who want to share their views on nudity, Christianity, and problems around the world. Most of the groups on this site are very dead. Christ never intended for us to set back and do nothing in times like these. So, if you are willing to share, pray for one another, and send prayer requests, then this is the site for you. Any "pornography addicts"?

Return to Discussions

Hi from Willy, a very new member. I have a question about what some call "porn addiction."
For 40 years now, I have struggled with wanting to see "porn." Not pumping organs, not kinky stuff (okay, yes a little). But most of what I look for is people (okay, 99% women) who are nude and enjoying it.
My conservative Christian views have taught me, No No No. That's looking on a woman with lust in my heart. Can't do THAT.
For the last six months, I've been wondering if I've been fighting the wrong battle. Maybe there's nothing wrong with plain simple nudity. (You probably agree, since you're on this site also.)
I've been on naturist-christians.org a bunch, and also mychainsaregone.org. They've got some good messages, but I can't say yet that "my chains are gone."
I think that there IS a battle here that I have to fight, but whatever it is, I don't have direction or success.
Who can relate? Who has success, and how? What resources should I be getting?
Thanks!

I definitely relate. Its not always easy to know when the enemy has weakened us. I have gotten off porn for telhe most part. What I found I missed was a deeper intimacy that simple nudists chats could help with. It seemed to allow a quicker openness. Not sure its good, but Im wrestling with it

I don't think porn is bad in moderation. I use porn as way to look at nude women and as a means to get used to looking at the opposite sex since I don't know any nude women in my area and nude locations in my are basically not a thing. I know of a local meet and greet group and if their rsvp section with each meet up is accurate it's mostly men and that's OK because it's better than nothing but doesn't help ya overcome getting an erection in front of members of the opposite sex.

Bigger spaces are to far of a drive especially for someone like me who can't drive

I grew up with an awareness of porn and videos were readily available in stores and on websites. As a young adult (18 to 24) I would watch the videos. Why? Well as Johnny Carson once explained to Doris Day he liked watching erotic movies. When she asked him why he answered honestly "It makes me horny!" It was a refreshingly honest answer and it is true! Guys watch porn because it arouses them. I got aroused and would masturbate to porn and I suspect most guys did too.

As someone mentioned in a previous message there is nothing really wrong with it unless it becomes an obsession. A mens' group at the church pointed out that after a while young guys cannot become aroused with out watching porn: it becomes a conditioned response. And some guys need more explicit material to help them get off and soon cross in illegal material. I agree some moderation is needed to keep people from getting caught in the dark web of porn.

I also wonder what happened to eroticism? Too much current American made porn is focused on close shits of the genitals. European porn producers offer videos that are slower, more sensual and much more erotic and arousing. I prefer erotic films to hardcore porn!

How common is it for men to have an erection in nudist settings like beaches?

Rare but it does happen.

Its a process I think. Nudism isnt the same as porn of course. But too much time dwelling on sexual acts will push the buttons again.

Honestly, I am fighting that addiction now. My counselor got me a book that is helping with the addiction called "Fortify: The Fighter's Guide to Overcoming Pornography Addiction ". According to the sixth commandment any thoughts, desires, or words about sex that doesn't involve your wife, you are breaking the commandment. So, IMO, as long as it's not lusting after another in your thoughts, actions, or words you should be OK.
