When were you cut and why? And what are your thoughts on it.

I was cut at birth like most guys born in the mid 50s. I didn't know what foreskin was until i traveled to Europe in 1985!! I don't even remember seeing a photo of an uncut penis.
I read threads here and on LPSG where lots of guys cut at birth complain of not having the choice and wanting to restore etc. I'm curious if everyone here can tell a little bit about (1) their age, (2) when were they circumcised and (3) if you were cut later, why? Medical reasons, religious reasons or just because you liked the look. (4) What are your thoughts on it now?
If you had sons, would you have them circumcised at birth or wait until later when you could discuss it with them and let them decide?
There's great site for cut men (and their admirers) cuttingclub.de You might want to check it out if you're interested.

Had to have my foreskin removed about 12 years ago on medical grounds.Skin became tight and when getting hard would not stretch & once ripped a little. Not pleasant.Good lady prefers my cut c*ck as bell end gets nice and shaped.I was cut at birth like most guys born in the mid 50s. I didn't know what foreskin was until i traveled to Europe in 1985!! I was cut nearly 4 months ago due to medical reasons. My foreskin and I had a wonderful time for 55 years, but it was necessary. The healing process isnt finished yet. I was told that there are fewer probelms when it is done during childhood. Therefore I am not sure what I would decide if I had a child. On one side I would like to save him of this healing experience - on the other side I would not like to steal him the experience of having a foreskin.

I was cut when I was born in the 50s. My dad was uncut but knowing he was born on his grandparents farm when my Grandmother could not get back into town because of a snow storm and my Grandfather being from Switzerland being uncut might have been the reason, not sure of any of my uncles. I wish I would have talked to parents before they passed and asked why. Restoring foreskin now and loving the extra sensitivity. There was only one guy in my gym class in school that was uncut but never had the balls to talk to him about it back then.

I was cut shortly after birth just because it was common practice in the US at the time I was born. Most of my friends we're the same and it was easy to see that in the showers at school. I only saw a few uncut boys when I was growing up. I never thought too much about it. My penis brought me and continues to bring me and my partners great pleasure. But once I was in my 20's and met more and more uncut guys and saw pictures of uncut penises I got kind of sorry I wasn't naturally intact. If I had a son I would keep him intact.

being born in the late 60s in the USA, I was cut shortly after birth as is/was common practice in the US. All of my friendsgrowing up werethe same and in the locker rooms at school all you saw was cut guys.I never thought too much about it, since that is all I knew. I'm sure foreskin was discussed in 'sex ed' or health class, probably in late elementary or middle school, but withthat topic, at that age, I probably didn't pay much attention to it.The first time I saw an uncut penis was sophomore year of high school, when a foreign exchange student from Denmark joined the swim team. Cut is all I have known, so I don't fret much about what 'would have been' and I like having my bare head exposed all the time. My cut is high and tight and I have a prominentdarkscar that rings the shaft.I do have to say, aesthetically, I think cut penises are more appealing to me personally. That may be because that is what I have been exposed to much more that uncut ones.

I was cut at the age of 19. It was my choice, I didn't have any medical condition. I'm so glad that I did it and my only regret is to have waited that long to have it done.
For those wondering about about having sex before and after being cut - it's the same or maybe better: you don't have that awkward skin that causes friction and can get irritated. And no, you do not lose sensitivity because your foreskin is gone. I feel the exact same thing.
For hygienic reasons, it's night and day: it's much cleaner than when I had foreskin that collected bacteria and the horribly smelling smegma. Just to remember that, it makes me want to vomit. Awful. Once I was hiking in the desert for a whole week and couldn't shower at all. At the end of the week, I didn't have smelling a glans. GREAT. It's jsut clean.

(2) I was circumcised at birth. I do not know all the reasons why, but as many have mentioned, that was the thing that was routinely done in the US during the 1950s and 1960s and beyond.
(3) Not applicable
(4) I do not believe in circumcision at birth or during childhood, unless there is a true medical issue. I believe that men should be able to make their own decisions about becoming circumcised or not. I wish I were left intact. From what few I have seen, I love the look of a foreskin. I have read a lot about the functioning of the foreskin and find it quite fascinating. I think it is cool, as one other poster pointed out, an uncut penis can also look cut when the skin is pulled back (like during erection).. so it appears they can have the best of both worlds. I have considered foreskin restoration, but am concerned about the side effects.
(5) With my research into foreskins many years ago, as we were about to have a son, I discussed the matter with my wife. Originally she just figured that he would be circumcised. I explained the whole situation and the purpose of the skin. She realized how crazy it is to perform an unnecessary surgery on a perfect newborn son.
I really appreciate NudeSkyDude's post when he said...
... I have read articles where parents specifically said they did not want their baby boy circumcised. Somehow, those babies were "accidentally" circumcised. How does one "accidentally" perform a circumcision? Our son was born 16 years ago. We wanted to be certain -- even though we stated we dd not want him circumcised -- that nothing was accidentally done to him without our knowledge. So, after the delivery, when the nurses wanted to whisk our new son out of the delivery room, I went along with him. I stayed by his side to be sure that nothing was done that we didn't want. He remained intact.
Whether he wishes to become circumcised will be his own decision. We will not make it for him. I wish I was afforded that option. I cannot change the past. But I can do my effort to help people understand the routine circumcision is wrong. No, I am not a vocal intactivist, but given an opportunity and a forum, I will share my views on the matter.

RE: When were you cut and why? And what are your thoughts on it.

I was born in the UK and intact up to 9 weeks ago when I had a circumcision for medical reasons. My Dr. was great, easy to talk with and WE decided where the cut would be thus retaining most of the inner foreskin. I wanted to have some coverage of the glansif at all possible. I'm very happy to report that I have virtually full coverage, thankfully I had a long foreskin to start with. If I had sons I would never have them circumcised, it's their bodies and their choice when adults.
