Who can see me experiment
Return to DiscussionsI did my morning commute naked three days last week. Drove home naked one afternoon. I was really starting to wonder if other drivers could see so I conducted an experiment while I was wearing shorts. I laid my phone in my lap and pointed the camera out the passenger side window. I viewed the camera from my Apple Watch screen while I drove down the interstate in the fast lane. I knew if I could see the other drivers on the screen they would be able to see me. I only saw the drivers in large trucks like 18 wheelers, big dump trucks etc. No SUVs, vans or other vehicles could see me. The vehicle I was driving is very low and has a lot of glass. YMMV depending on your vehicle and the size of the windows and a host of other variables but I'm confident that only very high vehicles can see me. I still want to tint the windows as dark as it legal though.
You are pretty much correct in that only large trucks can see into your car. And most of those don't even bother to look. You were also in the lane that was the easiest for them to see you. If you move to the slower lanes there is even less of a chance for anyone to see. So relax and enjoy your drive.
Another way is to try and look into other cars and see how much you can see. Even in my SUV in most cases I can't see people below their stomach. And even then if you really think about it on your drives how many cars do you look in enough to notice really just about anything?

Also, bear in mind if you try this that you are deliberately trying to see into other vehicles. Most people won't put that much effort in.
Recently and as a result I am getting more confident about driving naked even in the daytime. I drove home naked yesterday afternoon and much of my driving is on the interstate highway with 4 lanes dwindling down to two further down the road. I wasn't so much worried about anyone seeing me anymore but still kept a pair of shorts close that could be slipped on or used to cover up.
Recently and as a result I am getting more confident about driving naked even in the daytime. True but there is also an argument for not getting arrested. That is my wish. They are so close minded around here they would haul you to jail and label you a sex offender.
