For me it is about 7 years.
I had been freeballing more often when not at work for a few years before I retired.
Once I retired I wore it less and less and about 2 years after, I stopped completely and got rid of the last of my underwear.
Ten years. I keep a pair or two around for formal occasions. The climate here in Louisiana is warm for most of the year, so I wear short shorts to work commando and have done so for years with no issues. I love the freedom during the day.
What kind of work do you do?
I have been living full-time without underwear for 10 years. My only regret is not starting sooner.
I wish I had started as soon as I retired. I could have counted my understanding and undershirts and tossed them in the trash instead of the laundry hamper so that the last of them went out when I got home from my last day of work. Only about 2 years sooner.
More significantly, I wish I had started sleeping nude when I moved out and got married at 22 instead of going through a 14 year transition of wearing less in bed until I arrived at nothing.

It's got to be going on 20 years for me. Back in 2003-2005 when I was living back home with family right after college, I would wear my cK tighty whities under my jeans where I worked at the manufacturing company. But when I moved here to the city in 2006, that was the end of that. I pretty much don't wear underwear anymore, for anything. When I am at the farm, I don't even pack them in my weekend bad, and I'm usually in workout shorts that have a liner, or my jeans or just loose mesh shorts around the house, even around family. I wear darker colored mesh shorts around family in the house, so that just creates less penis outline shadows. Down at the Y here in the city, I go commando, too, in my ranger panties or short mesh shorts. Haven't worn underwear or a jockstrap there, going on 3 years now. I know my package bounces around and I can see the ridge outline of my penis head some in the big mirrors, doing exercises in front of em, but you've just gotta be cool and confident about it. I've had a couple guys comment on it before, but it's no big deal. Just handle it with confidence and grace. It's just really comfortable for me, and I don't like the feel of my penis and balls mashed up against my body, all tight. I will wear a jockstrap, on very rare occasions, if I would go to the park for a walk in very cold temps in the winter, where I'd want my goods held tight to my body for warmth, so I don't have a frozen fish stick and hushpuppies. But in Houston, that's rare. :) So it is freeballing pretty much everywhere for me anymore.
Over 10 years now. Not sure why i started so late. I have seen no reason to wear then anymore. Don't own any. Wife knows...kids know. Some friends know. Love the feeling . Love the freedom.
Slacks...jeans..shorts..swim shorts get the lining ripped out.
Way i see it. If people see or notice. They looked their problem..lol
I'll say five hours - but will qualify it a bit. I stopped wearing underwear about 30 years ago. The only time I did was when I slept because my wife at the time requested it for our young child. Once we separated, it was 24/7 commando UNTIL - I got a small Chihuahua that had a bit of separation anxiety, so I had him sleep with me. All went well until he scrambled to get out from under the covers and accidently scratched me in the privates. I shook it off and stayed commando but fast forward several years and now I have three (or more at times) small dogs in the bed. After being scratched a couple of times I thought it wise to provide a little protection to the family jewels and began wearing sports boxer shorts at night. I still have one dog left that sleeps with me, so I'll continue to keep the boxer life during bedtime. Aside from that, how about 16 hours a day, 7 days a week :-)
