Freeballing at the doctor's office

Sounds like a cliche topic I know..but I wanted to put this out here for my fellow freeballers. I generally don't wear underwear and I have been wearing them less and less at work as well. Sometimes, depending on the material of my slacks or khakis I would wear boxers only, but I decided to just rid myself of underwear all together despite my attire. This applies to work, running errands or at the gym etc. I do run and I will keep some snug shorts or under gear just to keep things from being jolted around.
Now, to my point, I have an appointment for yearly check up and with a new doctor at the VA next week and I wanted input from any freeballers out there in regards to wearing or not wearing underwear to my appointment. I would prefer to stick to my guns and stay underwear free, but not sure if there might be an issue or if anyone has ever experienced an issue while at the doctor's office? I have observed over the years how sometimes the doctors barely lift my shirt to check me out or listen to my heart and lungs etc. I am not sure how "complete" this check up will be as it is the first time I will meet with this new doc. My previous primary care doc at the VA was a female although she never examined me and always referred me to her intern, which was male. Male or female, does not matter to me, again, just looking for thoughts or input on my upcoming freeball or not doctor's visit. Thanks and hope ya'll have a great day!

Unfortunately, lately I've had a number of hospital / doctor's visits and not once has my lack of under carriage even been mentionedYou sound more like a plane if you have a lack of under carriage.

I thought it was slang term for the genitals until I re-read it. ;-(

I wouldn't want to be a plane without undercarriage. Having said that, I probably used the wrong term. I meant that the lack of under clothing didn't cause any reaction / comment from the medical staff.

I had to have a follow up checkup after my hospital appointment and one of the nurses commented about the tan lines on my feet so I think she realised that I had a lack of tan lines on my bottom as she would have seen it.

I finally managed to have my procedure today (3rd attempt) and I had exactly the same conversation with the nurse having changed into the gown. Never thought about sun tanned feet being an indicator before.

Still no comment about being commmando

RE: Freeballing at the doctor's office

I see this is still a popular topic so I'm going to follow up on my comment about my annual physical last year. It was totally different this year!

I went back yesterday for an annual and had a different nurse. She recited the same script on her way out the door. "Get underessed and the doctor will be in shortly. Take off everything but your underwear and sit on the table. " I replied that I don't wear underwear and she said "that's ok some people don't want to take them off until the doctor comes in." I told her I don't have that problem. She smiled and halfway laughed as she waved off my last reply. As she was going out the door she said "so take everything off, there is a sheet in the table for you to cover up with." That was needed since the exam table faces the door which opens into the hallway.

The doc came in and the exam went much smoother than last year. It was obvious we were both more relaxed especially since he knew I wasn't going to be shy or embarrassed about anything. We joked a little about the prostate exam and it was all a much less serious event than before. I think that next time I'm going to make it a point to discuss the underwear issue with him.

These days, the medical profession seem so paranoid about patient privacy that it takes up so much of their time. Understandably with the prudish and shy world that we have today.

It must be a relief when they have nudists in who don't have the worry

I think you are right. In retrospect I think that was the case with paranoia last year since that was my first annual with this doctor. Now there has definitely been a shift in our communication and understanding.

Yes there will always be the rouge doctor about but it is so much these days of the no win no fee low life who make it so much worse for both sides because of them trying to get people to make a claim against the doctors.

I have to agree with you all... I really like my Dr. a lot, but when I have my annual Physical I stay completely clothed! At the end he has me drop my pants to do a testicle exam and prostate exam.
He noticed a couple of "sunspots" on my face, and he knows I'm a nudist so he referred me to a Dermatologist to have my whole body checked. I don't usually wear underwear but I did to this visit simply because it was my first. He is a teaching Dr. and an entourage of about 6 people came in to watch him examine me... He did check me very thouroughly everywhere except what my underwear covered. I couldn't get a second alone with him in private to tell him about my lifestyle... I'm not ashamed of it but didn't want or more to the point felt I shouldn't have to announce that to a room full of people. I have another appt coming up in a couple of months and I'm going to insist that it's just the two of us and he will check everywhere !!

I told my PC about it and he thought it was really weird and proceeded to tell me about another patient of his he referred to another Derm. for a lesion on his buttock. When he went to the appt. the Dr. refused to look at it!! Telling the patient "I don't look in the underwear area" Iwould have reported the bastard to the AMA for neglecting his patient!! This guy really has a problem!

My dermatologist's assistant always asks me to strip to my underwear and wait for the doctor when I am having a full body exam.
When the doctor arrives, he examines what he can see and then carefully move the underwear so he can check inside it without me taking it off.
When I got rid of my underwear in stages, I kept one pair just to wear to the dermatologist.
After my last visit, I decided to toss the last pair and go underwear free next time.
No that the appointment is getting closer, I am beginning to feel uncomfortable with my decision.
