Can being naked be considered commando?

The reason I ask is because I sometimes like to interchange "going naked" with "going commando" for variety when people know I'm talking about nakedness. I've been avoiding this use of commando on this site so it isn't confused with free balling.
From time to time in various media I've heard sleeping naked phrased as "going commando." I've also seen a bunch of nude pictures ( people with no pants, not just pants pulled down) with the word "going commando" somewhere in the title or description. The phrase has since stuck with me. Why? Before I started going naked there was a short period where I wore only briefs around the house. (I called briefs "shorts" sometimes, but I'm not going to lie,) Then I thought "This is silly! Maybe I'll try going naked!" and immediately ripped them off. There was a period of initial excitement where I kept telling myself interchangeably that I "was free" and that for now on I was "going naked" and "going commando" at home. Saying I'm commando when naked just makes sense technically because, well, I can't feel or see any briefs around my waist anymore! I don't have any underwear on, that very last article of clothing is gone. Naked is commando!
No, I don't think so. Being naked is so much more, much better. Going commando is about what we wear when we have to cover up. For me it is the minimum to be legal (and warm). So I definitely never wear underwear.
