Tan through Swimwear for men

Return to Discussions

Does anyone have experience with tan-through swimwear for men? Does it work well? Any issues with it? I'm frustrated that the complex where I live doesn't have a clothing optional pool (and in Palm Springs of all places!) I'm tempted to try one of these suits to use at the pool.
Any recommended brands or tips on using them?
Thanks!

RE: Tan through Swimwear for men

At the end of May I went on a week's textile cruise in the Mediterranean knowing I was having a nudist week in Vera Playa in early June. So I didn't want any tan lines. I bought two pairs of tan-through shorts for the cruise. They are like skin tight boxer shorts with no lining. The material is see-through, disguised by a heavy pattern. The packaging said they are the equivalent of factor 50 sun block. When I wore them I put factor 50 sun cream on the parts of me not covered by the shorts. I then spent all day on deck in the sun. They were very comfortable and I noticed other men on the cruise wearing them. They worked. Six days later I was off to Vera Playa with no tan lines. I spent the entire week naked at Vera Playa 24/7.
So they worked for me. the secret is to look up the sun screen factor of the shorts and to put sun cream on uncovered skin with the same factor.

I don't like skin-tight - does anybody know of regular tan-though shorts?

I love bikini type swimwear - the traditional speedo. Do they have any like that? Nowadays it is difficult even to buy the bikini swimwear, whether it's see-through or not. The ones you mentioned, is it see-through? Or see-through materials but the pattern covers things? You know, most swimming pool wouldn't allow see-through wears.

I ordered a couple of items from Cooltan.com towards the end of the summer, but didn't really get a chance to try them out before it started cooling off. I do alot of walking outdoors but because of a busy trail, I have to wear something, and thought that these walking shorts through this website might serve 2 purposes... keep anyone from complaining because I was naked and also get more of an overall tan while walking. They MIGHT be a little see-through, but someone probably would have to be up close and the lighting just right, and if they are looking THAT close, well they deserve to see my dick anyway. They are very comfortable, no liner, and loose fitting, so ALMOST the feeling of being naked. But not sure how well I'll tan through then yet, now will have to wait until next summer. I bought a basic black pair. But decided even if I don't tan through them, that since they are so light weight, I'll walk in then next summer since they are about as close as I can get to walking and feeling naked. I also ordered a pair of green bikinis through them to wear outside by the pool when I have to. They are not see through, but haven't gotten them wet nor been out in the sun with them yet. NEXT summer!!!

I have worn tan-through briefs many times. Most of them have a liner, but I usually cut it out. You cannot see through them unless you are very close or they become worn some. I wore a pair to Florida that I noticed when I got home that they were completely see through in the bottom. You do tan through them some, but not as much as uncovered skin. If you wear them all summer you will notice less of a tan line. I like wearing them when I have to wear something.

All of them I have ever had were tight and either styled like a speedo or bike shorts. Only the colorful pattern on the mesh material keeps them from being completely see through. Even with the pattern if you pull the fabric away from the skin you can still see through it so loose fitting shorts made of it would not hide anything.

I have bikini and boxer tan-thru suits for when I must wear something. I bought the boxers a size larger than I normally wear so they are loose and comfortable.
