Wondering what you think about the new TV commercial where a lady
squeals about the toilet paper being so good THAT YOU CAN EVEN GO
COMMANDO! Really? Shouldn't toilet paper be good enough
that your underwear, if you wear it, stays clean too? I think
that the tone is to titillate. Freeballing isn't really all
that titillating, but to the underwear-compulsive I suppose it's
scandalous enough to sell them TP. But then, titillation is
the point of probably 80% of advertising in America. Did
anyone else have a reaction to it? Anyone changing their
brand, for a cleaner commando life?

I believe I've only seen the print ad, not a video, and I seem to recall the model is wearing white pants, which is the other point... no skid marks will show through, which was enough to make me gag.

I have been going commando since I was 14 yro. Never ever had a problem and I don't need 5th Ave advertising telling me how clean I feel. It is just a selling point, but it does get the message of going commando out there. Even in the corp office I never wore underwear and never had a problem. No one ever said anything if they did notice.

I assume the ad, which I don't recall seeing, is for Cottonelle which also sells flushable wipes. I like the suggestion of going command which I've been doing for years now 100% of the time.

It makes the point in an amusing way. Was the lady wearing a skirt. If she was she'd be doing no more that the traditional kilt-wearing Scotsman.
