What and where are the best gyms for taking time showering, getting dressed, staying naked as long as possible? What makes those gyms good that way? I havent found a LA Fitness (my membership) in the Phoenix area that stands out that way. Rick
I use to belong to the YMCA when I live din Kansas City and there was a lot of prolonged nudity in the locker rooms there. They typically had saunas and steam rooms in the locker rooms and no suits were required. I think the Y was easier because they had a long history of male nudity. Especially in the pool areas where most guys swam nude. I wish I had been a member i n those days. By the time I joined...it was all coed and suits were mandatory in the pool.
YMCA was a great place to remain nude for long periods of time. The spa area was magnificient. Two huge jacuzzi tubs, two saunas, and two steam, and plenty of open showering with other males. Hard to find these days though. I still take my time in the locker room changing, and often remain naked and barefoot at the entryway to more visibility. Walk to and from showers without a towel, shower open, and often seen this way by passerbys and employees of the gym. Like to have a conversation naked too.
I'm lucky to have access to a couple of university gyms that have gender-segregated sauna in the locker room , which is great for relaxed nude time. Also one Y which still has the old men's wet area style (whirlpool, sauna, steam). Such places are very rare any more, and the Y will lose that space with the next remodel, scheduled next year.
If you lived in San Francisco in the late 70's and early 80's, the Central YMCA in the Tenderloin had a men's locker room that was a hot bed of nudity. It was large. Always full of men with their towels aside standing naked with one leg on a bench. And the naked conversation flowed without any self-conscious. You had to walk thru the group showers to get to the pool. It was always full of men lingering a bit too long sudsing their junk. It was very exciting!
