MALE Beauty
We usually associate beauty with femininity. By contrast with women's, male bodies are built for power and strength, have a 'rugged beauty' of their own. As nudists, it's wholly acceptable to admire others' physical bodies--regardless of their gender or ours. This is a group to express our admiration of the male physique.

US Post office murals
Return to DiscussionsDuring the Depression in the 1930s the US government hired unemployed artists to paint murals in local post offices, with most being done in the "social realism" style of the times. This romanticized the masculine male form. Whereas the mural artists are mostly unknown today, they are a cultural touchstone which deserve to be preserved. In nearby DesPlaines, IL, the old post office with such murals is up for sale or lease and has no historical status attached to protect it.

I've also noticed the same on public buildings from that era. The most obvious example I can think of is Rockefeller Center here in New York City. Perhaps best known id the huge gold Prometheus Fountain figure in the Skating Plaza right below where the famous Christmas Tree is displayed (and photographed) every year. There's also a statue of Atlas along Fifth Avenue around 50th-51st Streets, not to mention the many nude male sculptures and murals throughout the complex.
