Naked Talk

A place for everyone to talk about anything and everything! Post topics from whats going on in the playoffs (Go Steelers) to your nudist lifestyle or even put questions to the group. Nothing is really off limits, just be considerate with your wording. I want everyone to feel free to create new topics, post in threads, and post pics.

Does anyone else have a plan for if they are nude an have an emergency? Such as a fire for example?
I always keep a pair of basketball shorts by the bed just in case I need to get up and out in a hurry. Now that its winter I keep a heavy sweatsuit by the bed. I also keep a pair in the living room in case someone comes to the door.

RE: Emergency Plan

Had just gotten to bed once at a hotel about 2am. Then the fire alarm went off and had to hop up and scramble into clothes to evacuate. Didn't take too long to be presentable enough to dash down the stairs and outside.
Even at home, I usually have clothes close by on my dresser to put on it something happens or I have to answer the door. Might be shirtless, but hey, knock on my door unexpectedly and you get an eyeful !

RE: Emergency Plan

Usually the clothes I had on for the day are piled up right next to
the bed where I sleep. If there is any kind of night time
emergency, I can grab my pants, knowing my keys, wallet, pocket
knife, and other things I might need are in the pockets. I can also
quickly get my shirt and some socks if needed. Shoes or boots are
within three feet of the clothes.

For a different kind of emergency, there are loaded rifles and shotguns close by the bed too, and a loaded .357 in the bedside table. Don't come sneaking in my house at night. Let me know you're thereso I cancome let youin.

I keep gym shorts near the bed. Enough to be legally covered but wouldn't be warm enough in winter.

No plan. Sometimes clothes are close at hand and sometimes not. In a true emergency with nothing nearby, Id be nude outside waiting for the fire department, and Im sure someone would find me a blanket soon enough.

RE:Emergency Plan

I can think of four emergencies or near emergencies. In every case it didn't concern me that I was naked.

The first was when we (my wife and I) heard water running in the middle of the night. We went downstairs to investigate and found the hose had come off the washing machine. The entire downstairs was flooded a few inches deep. I turned off the water. Then we opened the front door and bailed the water out using pans. Only when we'd finished a lot later did we realise we were naked and in full view of anyone in the street.

The second was when a small boat we were in sank overnight. We were woken when the water rose to the bunks. Fortunately it was in shallow water so it couldn't sink any more. We bailed it out and pulled it into very shallow water before finding something dry to wear.

The third was when we got the car stuck in sand on our way to a nude beach. The car was up to its axle. I jacked it up and put stones under the wheels. Then, as luck would have it, two cyclists came by and helped to push us out. Only when it was on firm ground did we notice we were both naked.

The fourth was a real emergency. I had drowned myself in a swimming pool. They pulled me out, beat me back into life and put me on a helicopter to the nearby hospital. I was naked throughout. Indeed nudity was required at the pool. That didn't cause the medics any concern as I went from test to test in Accident and Emergency Dept. and when I was in intensive care. It probably helped the medics as it gave easy access to my body. And after a female nurse had inserted a catheter into my penis - who cared. My clothes arrived several days later.

I find keeping clothing handy is not a lot of use. It takes too long to pull them on. I do keep a warm robe near the door in case I get an unexpected visitor. In an emergency those around will understand if we emerge in a hurry naked. And someone will probably have a blanket if it's cold.

No emergency plan as such. If I am awake I at home or a hotel I am never too far from clothes. If I am awakened to a fire I would just wrap in the blanket I am sleeping under and leave ASAP.

I guess if I am in the back yard and the house catches fire, firemen will get an eyeful when they show up.

I was in Chicago in Jan one year and was taking a shower when the fire alarm went off. I just said the heck with I am in shower and wet so felt somewhat protected. Ended up being a false alarm, some kid pulled the fire alarm.

Always important to have a good risk management plan! There's usually a robe or pair of shorts close enough at hand, but I wonder would I really have the forethought in a true emergency to use either. I guess it's sort of the "flight and safety" adrenaline kicking in. Not my story, although one of a dear, close nudist friend who had a stroke at the resort where he lives year round. The good first, he survived the stroke and led a normal life after (with lots of good and hard physical therapy). But, as the event unfolded, a nurse who lived in the resort also, said: "We'd better get some clothes on you before the EMS arrives." Which looking back, in the moment - it seemed so odd on so many levels to be considering clothes. Then, it also pushes the question in my mind, why on earth do we have to be afraid of simple nudity . . . but isn't that often a question to ponder! Good thread though!

Especially odd because a nurse would know that in the emergency room they often remove all of the patients clothing!
