Cannot wait to move and start my work shop up again. Finished working on the house this past year. House is ready to sell. Oh I have seen some great homes with work shops. And I have been collecting new benches and tool boxes. Soon I can start working on projects.
Collecting oak, redwood, teak, oh and some other woods from estate sales and auctions. Thinking about pallet wood but those nails are hard to get out. I am grinding the heads of to get the wood. So far it works. Sometimes the cheap wood looks great after I work it.
Well I did find a great house with a basement work shop. Filled it up fast. Lol
900 sq ft ! Plus a bathroom and shower ! And no entrance from the house, so the wife doesnt always stop me as I am working on something.
The main problem I had with the house was that it was unused for more than a year. Someone kicked in the front doors. But the flippers who sold the house didnt know how to fix the doors correctly. Ran dowels in them with out glue. So I found someone who was selling doors very close to the ones I needed to replace. But oh where they dry ! Well two months of oiling and then waiting for the oils to soak in. Polyurethane on them, I think I lost count of how many coats.
But I left some of the patina on them. Why get rid of history !
Well I got them up ! Used new old stock hinges from an estate sale. I did put on too big of a door knocker. But it is the one I had. And its cool looking. But I think they came out nice.
I forgot to take pictures of them after. So off to put clothes on to get pictures. Lol. Front doors ! And the neighbors are across the street.
I also added pictures of the way the door looked before from the inside and my workshop before I filled it. Lol.
