Return to DiscussionsOne of the great things about being naked is that you leave all your status symbols, religious and cultural back ground behind. All of your nudist friends have just their naked body and nothing to hide behind. It is just so freeing to be able to be yourself. What does it say, when you begin to add that back again by adding tattoos and jewelry to your body It appears to me that most jewelry worn at nude resorts is there to draw your attention to certain body parts. Does anyone else feel this way?
Like you, Jim, I prefer nature's adornment as far as body decoration goes. I think what you write is more true now than ever. There's the current practice of shaving one's body. So many nudists then adorn their pubes with jewelry or else add flourishing tattoos where there once was a bushful of glorious hair. I guess it's all a matter of personal preference, but, philosophically, I'd want to ask my fellow nudists: why take off everything to be naked and then replace your clothes with charms and ornaments? It's kind of like adding Post-it notes to call attention to your various body parts, unnecessarily.
