Underwire bras?

Return to Discussions

Hi all, I have a cyst on my breast, outside towards armpit. Someone suggested this may be from wearing underwire bras. Does anyone have experience with this? I wear a 38C so do need some support! Any styles, brands that work well? Of course my preference is not to wear one at all, but we must sometimes:-) thank you Diana
UPDATE: I have had this medically checked out and get regular mammograms. No worries there!

Thats why I have always advocated for women to go braless!

hi, sorry to have to say this, but this is pretty dangerous, please check with the doctor right away. you will definitely need to take a sample for analysis, so be prepared for that. and yes, its best without a bra, but I think its less important now.
take care of your health and do not hesitate with a medical examination. all the best, love, M

I have worn underwire bras for many years and never had a problem with cysts on my skin. But like the other poster said, you definitely want to get that looked at. Might need to go braless and let that heal up.

My wife had something going on in the same spot. The dr told here to cut back on the caffeine and it worked. Not sure that would be the same for you but thought I would share.

My wife has been a large B, small C cup all her life. She'd always worn underwear bras for work and when we went out when she needed to wear a bra. She's had two surgeries to remove cysts from her breasts. The ended up being fibroid cysts and non cancerous but her doctor and surgeon both told her to stop wearing underwire bras. The underwire was causing her fibroid cysts and since switching to bralettes, she's not had an issue with cysts since.

There are various articles on this subject on the web. Of course, 95% of the time, my wife never wears a bra but when she does, it's a bralette. She says that she only wears them to hide her nipples and the jiggling and swaying! ;DDD I'm just glad she's healthy and doesn't have those cysts that though benign, caused her lots of grief and sleepless nights.

Be well!
