One day I woke up and reached for my cigs and coughed up like mad, so I decided to quit.
I got some patches and have never smoked since, this has been for 4 years now and to tell the truth will never ever smoke again.
Like you said about the smell, I find the smell of cigs vile and wont stay in the same room as a smoker, they do say ex-smokers are worse and that could be true.
The money I saved from not smoking I bought a car with and the money now covers the running costs.
Smoking once ruled my life and now I can proudly boast I am a non-smoker..... Yipeeee.

My husband and I are both former smokers. We concur completely about the smell. We hate it now. I had smokers around me all of my life so I don't know what it would have been like before I smoked. My husband said he didn't recall smoke bothering him a lot before he started smoking but he hates it now that he has quit. It's been over ten years for me nowand seven for him.
