Looking forward to posing nude for a drawing class next week
Return to DiscussionsMany years ago when I was broke I did some modeling for a drawing class. It was a chance to make a few bucks and all I had to do is sit there nude. After getting a job the work schedule conflicted so I stopped doing it. I really enjoyed doing it and now that I don't work a gizillion hours a week I am going to do it again. I have been getting form emails from the instructor for years and always wished I could be available. Now I am so I replied to his email to see if there would be any interest in an old fart like me. Well, I am signed up for next week and really looking forward to it. I am not sure if this class is co-ed or male only. It does not manner to me, I am comfortable being nude in front of anybody.
Good luck on the modeling. Ive been doing it for three years now and I love it. Hope you can concentrate and do a great job. Simply the best part time job there is. I too am retired and cant wait on my days to pose. The college I pose for uses my poses as their standard for students to receive their specific art degree certification. Its pretty cool and Ive seen some really great artists.
I was first introduced to it by a friend that was going to attend an event held by the local gay naturist club. I mostly went just to check it out with little intention of participating. One of the artists asked if I could pose for him for a short while and I agreed. He did a fairly quick sketch, about 15 minutes. then introduced me to a few others, one of which was the drawing instructor. He asked if I would be interested in modeling for his class and I said yes. I was surprised by all the attention since I was in my mid 40's at the time, but in very good shape. (See red speedo pic in my profile) I went on to do some posing for a University of Miami drawing class (Co-ed) One of the women commented that I looked like a guy that was in the Real Men section of Playgirl Magazine recently. After I admitted it was me there seemed to be more interest. Shortly after then I got a full time job and could not do the posing anymore. Not sure what may develop from Wednesdays session since I am a lot older now and I am not in the same shape anymore (more like the nude workout pics plus a few pounds but losing it rapidly). I would love it if this turned into something regular.
how would a noobie go about finding such modeling opportunities? I live in the Seattle area
type your city and life modeling into Google I did it years ago and got a hit at a local art studio. I contacted the woman in charge. She talked through the logistics , I agreed, she said "bring a robe and slippers and be comfortable in your own skin" Two weeks later I arrived at the appointed time and she showed me to the changing area. I stripped out of street clothes and put on my robe. Went out to the art area
and dropped my robe in front of 10 or so artist ages 20-70s , male and female. It was a dynamic group in that the artist could come and go as their schedule allowed over the 3 hours. They contributed $2 / hr and the coordinator paid the model out of that pool of money. I held poses from 5 min to 30 min with one time doing a full hour. There would be breaks where I would don the robe and could go pee etc. I did it about half dozen times and enjoyed my forced non-fidgety time. I would keep my mind busy by working thru some yard and home projects I was working on at home.
I did not get rich, but the experience was memorable. I may try doing it again here soon once any hint of having to wear a mask while posing is gone. I checked their website yesterday and i hope it is a case of being out of date because it mentions artists and models will be masked. Yeah NO.
Just got back and really enjoyed it, other than my leg and arm cramping up a bit on the last 45 min pose. The instructor said he would like to have me back, and the artists said I did a real good job especially on that last pose. One of the artists said he could not believe I did not even blink. I liked the artwork he did and he said I could have it. I rode my bike to the art class so I could not take it with me, so the instructor is going to hold it for me and I will stop by and pick it up sometime this week. There were 4 artists there, all with their unique style. They let me take pictures of the work and this is the one I get to keep. I may post them all on my profile page
I was a little bit concerned with the last 45 minute pose, but it went well. Years ago when I did this someone told me just to pick something and focus on it. I looked at one of the blades on a ceiling fan. The artist that did the picture I posted in this thread commented afterwards that he did not even see me blink. I hope I get called back. I really liked doing it. The money was no big deal, it payed $50.
Just got an email and it looks like I will be posing nude for the class again on Wednesday May 25. Looking forward to it and I have a few other ones pending. Nice little side gig for retirement
