This group is to be about the name subject that nudism is NOT about sex and what we as nudists can to to allow the public at large know this. I wear a t-shirt everywhere in public that says just that. The front says "Nudism is NOT about sex" and the back says simply "DEAL WITH IT!" Return to DiscussionsI've seen some discussions interrupted by someone who declared, "Nudity has nothing to do with sex. Discussions of sex have nothing at all to do with nudity. This discussion (about sex) should not be taking place here (on TN) and should be stopped immediately -- or something to that effect.
These same people, who object to nudists discussing sex because sex has absolutely nothing to do with nudity, have no problem with nudists discussing gardening, cooking, cleaning, shopping, visiting the doctor, driving, sports, books, movies, music, etc., ad infinitum. However, none of these other topics have anything to do with nudity, either. Yet, they are not considered objectionable.
Nudist enjoy a wide variety of topics and activities, and enjoy discussing these topics and activities -- even though they have nothing to do with nudity. Among the things that nudist enjoy is sex.
Good parallel to other subjects. Sex is just a subject. It's the individual who turns it into something "bad" or objectionable. Being free of clothes could allow one to be free to discuss any subject, with maturity and respect to those around you.
This is such a twisted view of associations sex and nudity. Feels like saying there are alternative facts. When people say that nudity has nothing to do with sex they are saying just as being in a garage doesnt make you a car being in a nude state being automatically mean there is a a sexual intent or interest. Nudity or nakedness is just that nudity and nakedness. Ones state of dress or undress can be detach from any activity one may engage in while dressed or undressed.
Nudism as defined by nude recreation and naturism as defined by social nudity with respect for other and environment has nothing to do with sexual activity but has many other activities related. The conflation of sex and nudity and the effort to validate that conflation by associating with nudism/nude recreation and naturism is an ongoing attempt to gain credibility that has only served to destroy the appeal of nudism and naturism for a general audience. That is why nudism and naturism to a lesser extent are now seen as the domain of creepy old men.
As the name of the group says nudism has nothing to do with sex just deal with it and call nudity+sex what is it. Sex without clothes.
