Nudist beauty pageants are often frowned upon by naturists as they are often seen as a form of exploitation of women. Nevertheless, they were a part of organised naturism for a long time, and continue to be organised in some resorts and clubs. This group provides a platform for the exchange of views on beauty pageants. Pictures or videos of pageants are also welcome.

I don't do resorts much, but ended up at one on a "retro" weekend, and they were doing things from the past of nudism including pageants. I found it a little disturbing, especially the drive some of the contestants had to win, even down in the younger categories. Overall, I think we're better off without these. Sorry if that's an unpopular opinion.
I have never been to a nude beauty pageant nor have I been to a textile pageant. That said I must say that at 70 years of age my life has been filled with many wonderful and amazing experiences. I have traveled the world been to many different and diverse countries, and experienced the customs of the peoples that I was visiting. In my travels I have observed the female population subjugated as well as perceived in the dominant role in the hierarchy.
Then about 15 years ago had my first nude experience. It took place at an all adult inclusive resort. My initial reaction was one of surprise and it took some time for me to come to personal consensus as to how I felt about what was happening. It resulted in, at least for me, the most eye opening and wonderful vacation of my life. It took me from a life as a somewhat conservative textile to a very open minded nudist. So how does this relate to this thread, in this country since the year of my birth there have been pageants, the most notable being Miss America and for decades it was highly respected. In the response to the OP the follow on post made a personal pronouncement by verbalizing that it objectified the ladies. My opinion is that the ladies made a conscious decision to enter the pageant of their own free will, and a beautiful woman is still a beautiful woman whether in a bikini or fully nude. Although it appears that nude pageants are few and far between anymore, we still have young, fit, beautiful and handsome scantily clad presenting themselves for the purpose of winning the title of champion. I find nothing objectionable nor wrong with pageants. To each their own!
My opinion is that the ladies made a conscious decision to enter the pageant of their own free will ... I find nothing objectionable nor wrong with pageants.
It is true that women choose on their own free will to enter a pageant, nude or otherwise. It is not the fact of them being nude that makes them more objectified. Isn't the fashion industry and the social media-encouraged bodyshaming more objectifying than liberating yourself, being comfortable with your body and showing it proudly?
Its not an unpopular opinion, like different things in nudism, things evolved and changed. If you look at the photos from past nudist pageants and compare them to the different advertisements of the time, you will see that there isn't much of a difference between them apart from the nudity aspect.
