Nudist Pageants

Nudist beauty pageants are often frowned upon by naturists as they are often seen as a form of exploitation of women. Nevertheless, they were a part of organised naturism for a long time, and continue to be organised in some resorts and clubs. This group provides a platform for the exchange of views on beauty pageants. Pictures or videos of pageants are also welcome.

I don't do resorts much, but ended up at one on a "retro" weekend, and they were doing things from the past of nudism including pageants. I found it a little disturbing, especially the drive some of the contestants had to win, even down in the younger categories. Overall, I think we're better off without these. Sorry if that's an unpopular opinion.

I agree with you 100%. It borders on objectification, the exact opposite of what the culture is supposed to be about.

I Sorry if that's an unpopular opinion.

This is a free group, everyone is welcome to voice their opinion and there is no need for everyone top agree on everything.

RE:My experience

My opinion is that the ladies made a conscious decision to enter the pageant of their own free will ... I find nothing objectionable nor wrong with pageants.

It is true that women choose on their own free will to enter a pageant, nude or otherwise. It is not the fact of them being nude that makes them more objectified. Isn't the fashion industry and the social media-encouraged bodyshaming more objectifying than liberating yourself, being comfortable with your body and showing it proudly?

Its not an unpopular opinion, like different things in nudism, things evolved and changed. If you look at the photos from past nudist pageants and compare them to the different advertisements of the time, you will see that there isn't much of a difference between them apart from the nudity aspect.

RE:My experience

I agree. There is no objection to nudism being fun. When it's adult me or women participating out of their own free will I don't see the problem either. And non nudist beauty contexts are just as objectifying.
