Those old slides and negatives

Return to Discussions

Some of the shots in my collection are new, shot with either a Nikon D-90 or a Canon S3IS. Ohers are old from slides and negatives that I have been going through. I was pleased to see how much I enjoyed seeing those old shots again, more clearly than ever. And some negatives had never been printed. Maybe some other members have old shots that would be worth sharing. Of course, they would have to meet the very reasonable criteria of the True Nudists website that are pretty successful at keeping TN from degenerating into a porn site.
Learning to scan takes some time. Most scanning software has some filters that can help to clean uo dirt, mildew stains, etc. Of course, Photoshop is a big help too. I have used a lot of the touchup tools on the regular photoshop menu. Also, I have found the NIK plug-in 'color efex -remove color cast' very useful if color has gone bad from age, often giving Kodachrome and Ektachrome a magenta or purplish cast. So check those shoeboxes in the back of the closet.

Great idea! We'd like to see some of the results here in the Group. See instructions for Inserting Photos in Post. Below
