Although the NPS had posted on FB that they were reopening parking areas north of Eddy creek this weekend the road remained closed at lot 8 on Saturday. Later they posted an update that it will remain closed. Oh well so I parked at 7 (8 was already full) and walked out the boardwalk at 7 to the beach. Most were naked there and north of there. Talked to a local regular that says since the last hurricane damage and closures the nudists have been claiming the north most areas each day. Park service seems to agree with that and hasnt bothered them. For the best updates long after they happen follow Canaveral National Seashore on Facebook. It seems they post updates there more frequently than on the website although timeliness is apparently not a concern for them at all. Just go. Drive as far north as you can. Go out to the beach. Get naked. Just get there early if you really want a parking spot. If you arrive late not only may you not get a suitable parking spot they may close the entrance if they somehow feel the park is at capacity. They did on Saturday. Park opens at 6 am but at least get there before 7!
